To sum it up: ever since calamity was created there has been a bug in the code that makes every hit of yours hit twice. You would deal 20 damage when it only displayed 10 damage as an actual hit and its a global issue that everyone has. Its fixed in the upcoming update but needs some rebalancing which is why boss HP will be heavily adjusted (probably even halved for a lot of bosses) but the result should be the same length and feeling wise.
